Blue Doctor Hairwing
This is a simplified hairwinged version of the classic Blue Doctor salmon fly. I really love the Squirrel wing which has the appearance of a mallard wing and doesn’t need anything else to it. Use white thread for the body to keep the floss bright when wet and switch to black thread when tying in the wing. Since Squirrel is quite slippery pay close attention to tying in the wing securely. For extra stability you can tie the wing facing forward first and then fold it back and secure it again, it will make the head a bit bigger but your wing won’t come off ever.
