Let’s continue with the Teno series by Erkki Vaalama. As mentioned on the first pattern these first two were actually the only original patterns by Vaalama and the other variations of Rönkä’s old patterns. Teno 2 features interesting short veilings from golden pheasant tippet that sets it apart from the rest of the series. The wing is a typical light mixed wing used on harling flies in the Northern parts of Scandinavia.

Tip: Copper wire.
Tag: Yellow and Red floss.
Tail: Golden Pheasant crest and short veils from golden pheasant on top and below the hook.
Rib: Flat copper tinsel and oval silver tinsel.
1st Body: Redbrown (Terracotta) floss with short veils from golden pheasant on top and below the hook.
Butt: Black Ostrich herl.
2nd Body: Claret floss.
Hackle: Brown.
Wing: Strands of Golden pheasant tippet, grey Heron and Golden Pheasant tail fibres with Bronze Mallard on top.
Topping: Golden Pheasant crest.
Horns: Red Macaw, Swan, or goose.
Head: Black
