Banana tube fly Step-by-step with Anton Pousar
Scandinavian style tube flies are extremely popular at the moment for salmon all over the world. We have guys like Mikael Frödin and Håkan Norling to thank for developing these killers that are fairly easy to tie and fish like nothing else in the water.
This pattern is a variation from Mikael Andersson’s Banana Fly. It has been one of the most popular new color styles in recent years all over Scandinavia. I haven’t tied many tube flies recently so they haven’t been part of this blog but last weekend I did a fly tying course with Anton Pousar in Raisio and took photos of Anton tying his variation of this pattern. He was using a lot of Mikael Frödin’s new fly tying materials from the Salar Synthetic Series. The new SSS Body braids just came in last week and have received good reviews from everyone here in Finland.
