Black Dose Variation
Black Dose is one of my favorite classic patterns. This one is a simplified version that is very close to one antique Black Dose I’ve seen. I’m sure it will fish very well with this wing setup and reminds me to tie some for next summer for my fishing box as well. For a fishing fly I would do a slight sparser hackle than pictured to have a little less resistance in the water underneath the fly. The fly pictured is now in a good home with Mr. Marvin Nolte. Marvin was hosting a workshop for us couple years ago in Tampere, Finland and we traded flies there.
