Lemon and Grey
Classic featherwing fly that I taught at the latest workshop. Had to make few adjustments to the pattern from Pryce-Tannatt since some of the materials are very hard to get at the moment (like quality Teal flanks)
Hope the tyers at the class learned something new about these old flies and the tying techniques. They aren’t easy to tie at first but once you get the hang of it it’s just like any other type of fly. I you haven’t tried it before I suggest to go for it, this pattern is a perfect example of a good fly to start with.
Hook: 2/0 Sprite Single Salmon
Tag: Oval Silver Tinsel and Yellow Floss
Tail: Golden Pheasant and Red Weaver
Butt: Black Ostrich herl
Rib: Oval Silver Tinsel
Body: Grey SLF Squirrel Dubbing
Bodyhackle: Grizzly
Throat: Fl. Yellow
Underwing: Tippets back to back
Mainwing: Peacock wing; Yellow, Orange & Green Turkey; Dark Speckled Turkey and Golden Pheasant tail
Sides: Wood duck
Shoulders: Bronze Mallard
Horns: Blue & Yellow Macaw
