CDC & Elk
Brilliant pattern by Hans Weilenmann. CDC & Elk is one that should be found in all boxes when you are going to fish in places with caddisflies. Fast to tie, floats well and has a good low floating caddis profile. Add to that another high floating pattern and you’re good to go on most situations. I made a short speedy video originally for instagram but decided to upload a slightly longer version here as well in better quality.
Thread: Semperfli Nano Silk 50den – olive
Hook: Ahrex FW501 #14 (usually #10-18)
Body/hackle: Natural grey CDC feather
Wing: Elk or Deer hair
